Suzhou - July 25

Suzhou is reknown for one of the most beautiful gardens in China. This garden was previously the home of a wealthy doctor. Its courtyard is surrounded by many, many rooms. It has a peaceful (minus all the multitude of people) and lovely atmosphere.

On the outskirts of the city (pop. 3 million), there are canals between the houses, which is why this city is considered the Venice of the East.
